Additional information

First: The customs declaration documents are verified by the representative of the Standards and Metrology Organization at the customs center. The representative verifies the tariff item number with the contents of the attached invoice, and makes sure that the fees for the services of the Standards Organization are paid through item 016 so that the fees are 11.60 Jordanian dinars if the value of the declaration is less than a thousand dinars or 23.20 dinars if the value of the declaration is one thousand dinars or more.
Second: The goods are inspected verified in terms of type and item with the contents of the attached invoice.
Third: The goods are physically inspected to ensure that there are no violations in the product declaration. The inspection may be conducted simultaneously with the customs inspection.
Fourth: Test samples are taken for the technical examination of the product as per the requirements of the Jordanian Standards or the Jordanian Technical Regulation for mineral oils according to their type (engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil, brake oil). The samples are taken by the organization’s driver to one of the laboratories approved by the organization in Jordan regardless of the customs declaration lane (red or yellow) because mineral oil products are considered one of the strategic (high-risk) commodities at the Standards and Metrology Organization. Samples are taken by the organization’s representative inside the customs area at the rate of 3 liters for examination + 3 liters as a precaution (and as per the instructions of collecting and handling of test samples and transporting them the fees are at 11.60 dinars) for all customs centers with the exception of the Aqaba customs center, in which 23.20 dinars are collected as fees for transporting samples. The goods are not released from customs until the results of the examination come out. The goods can be released with a no-action guarantee until the results come out as long as there is a financial guarantee.
Fifth: If the goods bear a registered or known trademark, the validity of the trademark will be verified through the Verification and Reporting Unit at the Standards and Metrology Organization, according to trademark verification procedures to protect intellectual property rights.
Sixth: The organization's representative evaluates the validity of the results of the technical examination and verifies them at the customs center. If the results of the verification prove that the trademark is original, the declaration restriction fees are paid and the lane is converted to green.
Seventh: If the results of the technical examination do not match and are not verified, it will be recommended that the goods do not enter (they maybe re-exported or disposed of), the merchant has the right to repeat the technical examination if he wishes to do so within one month from the first examination.
Eighth: If the trademark is not original (or a counterfeit), it shall be rejected and not allowed to enter (the will be re-exported or disposed of), and a fee of 232 dinars must be paid for the verification of each counterfeit item
