Working hours apply to all representatives of the Standardization & Metrology Organization(SMO), with the exception of: 1. Those working on the procedures (Data leakage and inspection) in Aqaba Area 4 and Passenger Terminals will work 24/7. 2. Representatives of the Corporation at the Customs Center of Queen Alia International Airport (express shipping) work 24/7. 3. Representatives of SMO working in all procedures except (data leakage and inspecting of goods) in Aqaba, work Friday 8:00-14:00.

Additional information
Physical inspection of the goods is carried out to ensure that there are no obvious technical issues.
A representative of the Standards and Metrology Organization may request to verify the registered and/or well-known trademarks and send samples in case the verification, notification and anti-counterfeiting unit is needed by the organization and/or submitting samples from laboratories accredited by the organization for lab inspections (for products subject to inspection such as brakes, clutch plates and filters) Under these circumstances the time needed to conduct these tests depends on the type of testing.
Or verification of the conformity documents.
If further procedures are needed the goods can be released to the merchant’s stores however the merchant must make a customs pledge not to utilize the goods or he must offer a financial guarantee in the event the merchant is on the blacklist or the goods bear well-known or registered trademarks. The procedures are completed upon issuance of the test results from the laboratory.
Fees depend on the action taken.
