Additional information
The contract with the clearance company will include an authorization for them to carry out all the procedures according to an authorization letter written on official company letterhead, stamped by the company and signed by the authorized signatory which is validated by an approved bank. The clearance company's responsibility is in the customs clearance of imports of all kinds and the completion of all customs procedures in all centers and departments until the procedures are finalized and the merchant receives a completed customs declaration.
Some clearance companies have the option to apply online on the company's website.
The clearance company is authorized to continue with procedures such as preparing the declaration and any other customs procedures if the concerned party is not able to do so. This authorization is usually open-ended unless a letter of cancellation is submitted, in some cases it is annual and renewable, and for cases that are simple the authorization can be submitted as part of the declaration.
The authorization is for all types of goods arriving by air, land, or sea. The only difference is that in the case of land and air, this authorization is submitted to the shipping agent to electronically endorse the delivery permit on the customs system directly based on the authorization. In the case of land, this authorization is submitted directly to customs and entered into the electronic authorization system at the customs center.
The authorization for the clearance company is an irrevocable contract between both parties (for a limited time period) and the concerned party is authorized to handle all processes and procedures
Types of authorization: 1- General authorization 2- One-time authorization 3- Authorization for import purposes only 4- Authorization for export purposes only.
The company's commercial registration along with the authorization letter indicating the names of the authorized signatories must be submitted
