Who we are
The Jordan Trade Facilitation Portal is an online platform where traders can access to a Trade Facilitation Repository and Detailed Procedures on import, export and transit of more than 70 products, thereby enhancing their compliance and reducing transaction delays.
This portal was developed within the framework of the project “Improving Business Environment for SMEs through Trade Facilitation“ funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, implemented by The International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (represented by Jordan Customs) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and in partnership with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
To support the implementation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) measures as well as to align the existing implementation of measures with best practices and standards, the ITC and the Jordanian Customs are establishing an online trade portal that enhances the implementation of TFA Arts. 1.1 and 1.2. The portal is a part of an initiative that aims to increase the compliance of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the WTO TFA; ultimately increasing the competitiveness of Jordanian SMEs.
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. Having the unique mandate in the United Nations system of promoting increased competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing, transition, and least developed countries, the ITC focuses on enabling SMEs to benefit from international trade to grow; thus, raising incomes and creating job opportunities.
