Additional information

First: The customs declaration is inspected by the representative of the Standards and Metrology Organization at the Customs Center who ensures the matching of the tariff item number with the descriptions in the attached invoice and making sure that the fees for the services of the Standards Organization are paid through Clause 016 so that the fees are 11.60 Jordanian dinars if the value of the declaration is less than one thousand dinars and a payment of 23.20 dinars if the value of the declaration is a thousand dinars or moreز
Second: The goods are inspected and matched with the attached invoice as per type.
Third: The goods are physically inspected to ensure that there are no violations in the product declaration card/the inspection may take place simultaneously with the customs inspection.
Fourth: If the declaration lane at the Standards and Metrology organization is labelled red then test samples are taken for product examination as per the requirements of the Jordanian Standards and Metrology or the Jordanian Technical Regulations and are sent to be examined by the organization’s driver to an approved laboratory in Jordan. As per the instructions for requesting and handling test samples, a transportation fee of 11.6 dinars is charged, if the samples need to go to all customs centers except for the customs center in Aqaba then a fee of 23.20 dinars is collected. Goods may be released upon a non-action agreement signed by the merchant until the declaration is completed. However, if the name on the importer’s card is on the blacklist, or it includes registered or known trademarks, then the goods are seized at the customs center, or can be released to the merchant with a financial guarantee as long as there is a technical examination report from an accredited external laboratory that is verified by the Verification and Reporting Unit at the Standards and Metrology Organization and the fee of 23.60 dinars per report is charged.
Fifth: If the goods bear a registered or known trademark, the validity of the trademark will be verified through the Verification and Reporting Unit at the Standards and Metrology Organization, according to trademark verification procedures to protect intellectual property rights.
Sixth: The organization's representative evaluates the validity of the results of the technical testing and verifies them at the customs center and If the results of the verification prove that the trademark is original, the declaration lane is converted to green.
Seventh: If the results of the technical testing do not conform and are not verified, it will be subjected that the goods do not enter (they maybe re-exported or goods will be disposed of), the merchant has the right to repeat the technical examination if he wishes to do so within one month from the first examination.
Eighth: If the trademark is not original (or a counterfeit), it shall be rejected and not allowed to enter (the will be re-exported or disposed of), and a fee of 232 dinars must be paid for the verification of each counterfeit item
