Additional information

A hard-copy of the importer can be obtained as the electronic portal is linked to the customs department and can be viewed If the importer does not have an importer's card, he will be liable to pay a fine equivalent to 2.5% of the value of the goods upon their clearance The import card is automatically renewed two days before expiry for anyone who is registered in the importers registry with the same information as the previous card, unless the Ministry receives instructions from other parties that will prevent the renewal or if there are any updates to the card information In the event that the importer’s card is up for renewal, the import department in the ministry will send an internal electronic request for clearance from the customs department, a copy of a guarantee letter is not requested from the tax department. Renewal fee are 15 dinars only The expiry date of the card is one year from the date of its issuance whether it was renewed or registrated for the first time The importer's card for companies registered in the Golden List program and working in the field of import at the Jordanian customs is valid for three years instead of one year as they are offered special privileges, provided that their card is renewed every three years upon its expiry All traders must have an importer card, which is required at the beginning of the any commercial interest or pay the relevant fine.
